Galariinbaraay Community Hub
Health is a human right fundamental to the achievement of all other rights. The establishment of Galariinbaraay (Collarenebri Community Hub) was a plan forged by the community that contributed to the decision to form a community-led corporation to advance the interests and wellbeing of Collarenebri. The Hub ensures all residents, Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal, of Collarenebri and surrounding hamlets and villages have access to a regular health service that is affordable, accessible and responsive to the the needs of the community as a whole. Through a partnership with the Healthy Communities Foundation Australia, and funding from the Commonwealth Government and Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation, construction of stage one of a new purpose-built facility was completed in 2021 with stage two completed and due to officially open in April 2024.
